REVIEW: ANTIFORM

Antiform are a 4 piece Sci-Fi/Black/Death Metal group hailing from Spokane, Washington.

Formed in early 2017, the band has conjured up an extreme, but not over the top sound. Unlike most Black/Death Metal bands, Antiform have opted to refrain from belting out blast-beat laden monotone tracks that the market is flooded with. They have incorporated the vital components from the thrash metal, death metal, and black metal genres and amalgamated this into an awesome epic blend of raw, brutal metal!

I can’t quite figure out what the vocals remind me of or how best to describe them, but I can say that it’s a perfect blend of both the Black and Death Metal styles. With a balance of both guttural and darkened screams, Josh has definitely got what it takes to front a band of this stature!

Steve has nailed the drums flawlessly! It’s rare that drummers in this field get the combination of power, speed, and aggression right! This guy has seriously done his homework and came out with an A grade performance in my book!

The guitar work is awesome! Jesse and Ryan mesh perfectly to create a sound that’s truly insane…and addicting! There are technical parts worthy of Nile that then merge into whirlwind riffs that annihilate everything in it’s path.

To sum up Antiform…if you like it hard, heavy, and dark, then this group is definitely right up your alley! A definite must-see group!
